We made a stop at Karakuwa Peninsula Visitor Center to ride an earthquake and tsunami simulator and learn more about the devastation that the disaster had in the area |

| After another hour and a half on the road, we stopped at Kamaishi Station in eager anticipation of meeting our friends, Yamato and June, who both came to Hawaii in 2014. |

| They joined as at the hotel for dinner. |

| Our hotel for the night included (cloudy) views of the sea and futons and an onsen to round out the experience. |

| Dinner was delicious with more sea urchin, , scallops, hoya, chawan mushi and ikura. |
