6/23 Karakuwa Peninsula Visitor Center and Otsuchi Dinner

We spent the majority of the day in the van driving in the rain.

We made a stop at Karakuwa Peninsula Visitor Center to ride an earthquake and tsunami simulator and learn more about the devastation that the disaster had in the area

After another hour and a half on the road, we stopped at Kamaishi Station in eager anticipation of meeting our friends, Yamato and June, who both came to Hawaii in 2014.

They joined as at the hotel for dinner.

Our hotel for the night included (cloudy) views of the sea and futons and an onsen to round out the experience.

Dinner was delicious with more sea urchin, , scallops, hoya, chawan mushi and ikura.
